Investigation

The WRC maintains a global team of field investigators and labor experts who have built an extensive network of trusted relationships with unions, human rights groups, women’s organizations, and other civil society groups around the world. This dedicated expert field team investigates and remediates violations in scores of factories each year. They have sounded the alarm on the prevalence of serious labor rights violations that are routinely ignored by brands’ auditing organizations.  

We believe workers are the best source of information about labor practices in any workplace, and therefore, they are at the core of the WRC’s investigative method. The WRC’s investigations are grounded in direct worker interviews and are designed not only to document abuses such as wage theft, violence and harassment, and workplace safety, but to ensure remedy in full for all labor violations through accountability from factories and brands.
