About the WRC

The WRC investigates labor abuses in factories producing for global brands and secures remedies for affected workers around the world. Our robust evidence and analysis are widely cited in the media.

We can assist members of the media seeking up to date, evidence-based information and expert commentary on labor rights, factory conditions, and corporate accountability in global supply chains.

What we can provide journalists

We are available for interviews (including broadcast) and can provide comments on factory conditions, labor abuses and the human rights and corporate accountability context from the ground in all countries we work in across Asia, Latin America and Africa. If we can not provide on-the-record comment, we can assist on background.

The WRC has permanent field staff that are connected to worker representatives, trade unions, and civil society organizations in garment-producing countries. Our priority is to protect the safety and security of garment workers and our team. Where appropriate and with informed consent, the WRC can facilitate introductions or assist in obtaining direct quotes.

Many cases being publicly campaigned on have originated in a WRC investigation. We can provide accurate information related to these and you can review our factory investigation reports here.

We provide context and analysis on developments that affect garment workers globally — such as mass layoffs, wage disputes, factory closures, or policy and economic changes including issues such as tariffs. Our spokespeople can offer rapid, evidence-based background from our team around the world to help reporters interpret trends accurately.

We undertake in-depth research illustrating systemic issues such as unpaid wages, brand commercial practices, alongside analysis of current issues facing garment workers. We are able to comment on named brands and factories where this is grounded in our own evidence. You can learn more about our research and analysis here.
