Jessica Champagne

Deputy Director for Strategy & Field Operations
Jessica Champagne is the Deputy Director for Strategy and Field Operations for the Worker Rights Consortium. She joined the WRC in 2010 as Director of Research and Advocacy, and has coordinated WRC investigations in Latin America, Africa, Asia, and the United States. She previously served on the global team of the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) and has conducted research for Jobs with Justice and local worker and community organizations. From 2002 to 2005, she coordinated trainings and other programs for the Indonesian Society for Social Transformation (INSIST), the Urban Poor Consortium in Aceh, and Volunteers in Asia (VIA). She speaks Indonesian and Spanish and received her BA from Yale University.

Jessica is the recipient of a Heschel Vision Award from Jews United for Justice and of a Fulbright fellowship and is a former member of the Board of Instigators of the Diverse City Fund. She has led trainings and spoken on worker rights in supply chains in Hong Kong, Indonesia, Thailand, Honduras, El Salvador, the Dominican Republic, China, South Africa, and the U.S. Her writing on human rights, social movements, and culture have been published in Indonesian and English, most recently in the edited volume Power, Participation, and Private Regulatory Initiatives.
