Ben Hensler

General Counsel and Deputy Director for Policy & Research
Benjamin Hensler is the WRC’s General Counsel and Deputy Director for Research and Policy. He has 30 years’ experience in researching and assessing labor rights compliance in global garment manufacturing and retailing supply chains and developing and implementing appropriate measures for corrective action and remedy.

Mr. Hensler graduated summa cum laude from Princeton University and earned his juris doctor degree from Yale Law School. Following law school, he served a federal judicial clerkship at the United States Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. He is a member of the State Bar of California. 

In addition to authoring numerous factory assessment and labor rights investigation reports for the WRC, Mr. Hensler has authored and co-authored articles, book chapters, and reports published by the American Bar Association Section of Labor and Employment Law, Center for American Progress, European Center for Constitutional and Human Rights, Stanford Law School International Human Rights and Conflict Resolution Clinic, University of California Law – San Francisco International Law Review, and the University of Pennsylvania Journal of Business Law. He is a frequent guest speaker at law schools, law firms and legal conferences.
